Avi Amon is a Turkish-American composer and sound artist. Theater work includes music, songs, & sound design for projects at: Ars Nova, NYTW, The Old Globe, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Page73, Signature Theater, The Public, Target Margin, and Waterwell. Avi’s film scores have been featured at Cannes, Disney, DOCNYC, HBO, Hulu, Slamdance, SXSW, Tribeca Film Festival, and the 2024 Venice Biennale, among others. Recent highlights: original score for the feature film, The Fisherman, dir. Zoey Martinson (Venice); music & sound design for The Following Evening w/600 Highwaymen (PAC NYC); and two new musicals: The Lesson w/Nolan Doran and Ty Defoe, dir. Raja Feather Kelly (Ars Nova), and Through the Sunken Lands w/Tim Lord (Kennedy Center). Current/Upcoming: Avi’s score for the documentary, Everything You Have Is Yours, is available on all streaming platforms and Mother/Road, a multimedia performance piece exploring grief & memory, will premiere at The Shed in 2026. Avi is a MacDowell Fellow and has received artistic support from the Jonathan Larson Grant, Berkeley Rep, Dramatists Guild, Goodspeed, Mercury Store, New Music USA, The O’Neill, Rhinebeck, and others.
